Hygiene visits are often combined with routine check ups

Fillings

Fillings are restorations for areas where there has been loss of tooth structure, most commonly through decay, fracture or wear. Filling materials offered at The Pinner Dental Practice include:

  • Aesthetic White Composite Fillings
  • Glass Ionomer Fillings
  • Metal Amalgam Fillings

Aesthetic White Composite fillings starting from £150

Crowns

Often when fillings are very large, or after a tooth has been root treated, there is not much natural tooth tissue remaining. This significantly weakens the tooth. This is when a crown can be placed on the tooth.

Different crown options include:

  • Full Metal Crown
  • Porcelain Bonded to Metal Crown
  • Full Ceramic crowns (Emax or Zirconia)

Did you know? Root treated back teeth have an increased survival when crowned

Root Canal Treatment

Sometimes when a tooth is so broken, decayed or worn the nerve inside the tooth can become infected. When this happens it is necessary to remove the nerve and fill the now empty canal. This is a root canal treatment.

  • Single Rooted front teeth root treatment
  • Back tooth (molar) root treatment
  • Re-Root Treatment of front teeth.

Treatment starting at £200

Extractions

Teeth that have broken down or decayed to below the gum level are sometimes in such a position where any kind of fillings or restoration will not be able to repair the tooth. In these cases extraction (removal of the tooth) is an option to consider.

Although no body wants to have an extraction, it can prevent further infections and pain.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a good prosthetic option for replacing teeth. They involve putting a titanium screw into the bone surgically. Then after the screw has healed into place, a crown can be placed on top of it.

Did you know? The success of your implant will depend on lifestyle factors like smoking and oral hygiene.

Bridges

Bridges are a fixed option for replacing missing teeth. Often if a tooth nearby could benefit from a crown, a bridge is a false tooth that can be attached as part of the crown to fill the gap.

Different bridge options include:

  • Resin Bonded (Sticky Bridge)
  • Porcelain Bonded to Metal Bridge

Did you know? Sticky Bridges might not need any drilling. They are ideal for areas where there is not a lot of chewing force exerted.

Dentures

Dentures are a removable prosthetic that can be used to replace missing teeth. The main alternatives for dentures might be:

IMPLANTS or  BRIDGES

The benefit of the denture is that it is generally a very non invasive treatment compared to the other options for prosthesis.

Dentures can be the cheapest and most cost effective prosthetic.
