Your dental check-up
A routine examination gives us a chance to check your teeth, gums and mouth, discuss any concerns and identify care you may need. We’ll ask about changes to your health and give practical advice for looking after your teeth.
X-rays are taken when clinically appropriate. Your new-patient examination costs £93, including clinically necessary dental X-rays. Routine examinations for existing patients are £55.

How often should you attend?
Your dentist will recommend the interval between examinations according to your dental health and risk of future problems. Some people need closer monitoring; others can leave longer between visits. Your hygiene schedule may be different from your examination schedule.
Hygiene appointments
Hygiene care removes plaque and hardened deposits that are difficult to manage at home. We’ll explain which areas need attention and show you ways to improve brushing and cleaning between teeth.
If you have gum disease, you may need a separate course of periodontal treatment. Air polishing can also be considered for suitable surface stains.

Grinding, clenching or snoring?
If you have tooth wear or jaw-muscle discomfort, tell your dentist at your examination. We offer hard and soft protective splints from £200. Separate snoring appliances start from £600 and need an assessment of suitability.
Monthly dental plans
Our dental plans spread the cost of included examinations and hygiene visits. The team can help you choose an allowance that matches your recommended care.
